Dance Cd's

I just wanted to let you all know your dancer(s) will be getting Cd's of their dance music so they can practice at home.  But I probably won't have them done until right before Christmas Break or maybe after New Years.  So don't think I forgot it just takes countless hours getting all the music professionally cut & prepared to copy them:)

Thanksgiving Break

As you all know Thanksgiving is next week so the Peteetneet will be closed from Wednesday on. 

So all my classes that come on Monday & Tuesday will still come at their normal times. 

My 3 little classes that usually come on Wednesday mornings will come at their same time but on Tuesday. 

As for my teams that usually come twice a week, we will just have to take Wednesday & Thursday off but we will make it up eventually because when it gets closer to competitions there will be extra practices:)

My Hip Hop Kidz Team can come Tuesday 5-6pm with my other Jazz Team & my Hip Hoppers Team can come Monday 5-6pm with my other Jazz Teams.

Fall Break:)

Dear Parents & Dancers-  We will not be holding dance classes this Thursday (October 11) or Saturday (October 13) since it is Fall Break for all the schools.  We always have extra practices when it gets time for performances & competitions, so that will make up for the practices we miss. 
All the dancers are doing amazing & I love teaching all of them.  Have a fun & safe Fall Break!!  -Miss Kimber:)

Please meet at Payson Park by the white bandstand!!
I need the hip hop dancers (they dance to Undefeated) & the oldest jazz team (they dance to What Makes You Beautiful) to meet at the park by 9:30am so we can run through their dances!!
I need the other dancers to meet at the park by 10am!! 
We will be performing at 10:30am.
Please have them dressed in their summer costume with sneakers & hair in a high ponytail.

Stadium of Fire!! Oh ya!!

Had to post this picture of my cute dancers that did the Stadium of Fire!!  We had a blast, but those practices were killers, the one day we actually had a 15 hour practice!!  They all toughed it out though & by that night when they got to rock it out on the field for thousands of people they said it was all worth it.  And I think getting to see Scotty Hotty McCreery up close made it all worth it too!!  We are definitely doing it again next year, way 2 go girlie's!!

Salem Parade!!

Attention Summer Dancers:)
The Salem Parade is this Saturday, August 11, 2012
We will line up 300 W 300 S. We are number 64!!
The Parade will start at 10:00am but I will need dancers to meet me at the line-up by 9:30am. Have them dressed in their dance sneakers, shorts & T-shirt. All the girls that have long enough hair need to pull their hair in a high ponytail!!
The Parade Route will start around Salem Pond and end at the downtown ballpark, but they want all participants to be picked up at the parking lots north of Salem Post Office which is like the Old Neways Building.  After you pick your dancer up you are free to go, we are not doing a talent show at this event.
Reminder we had our last summer dance class this week, but all summer dancers will still be participating in the Payson Youth Talent Show on Saturday September, 1 & the Payson Parade on Monday, September 3.  I'll put times as soon as I get them:)
If you want your dancer to start dance in the Fall, you need to let me know ASAP.  Fall classes will start the week of Labor Day & run til the end of May when we have the final recital at the High School.

Fall Dance

Dance will be starting the week of Labor Day
& go through May 2013

  • Parents who did not fill out a paper at the end of the year, I need to know ASAP if your dancer is planning on taking dance this year.  Also if your dancer is 7yrs or older & has taken dance before they have the opportunity to choose if they want to be in a regular class or on a team.  They must be committed if they want to be on a team & they will compete at 3-4 competitions & must attend all of them.  (The Hip Hop Teams only learn Hip Hop & the other Competition Teams learn Jazz, Lyrical & Tap other than the oldest team they do not do tap.)
This year I am raising all my tuition $5.00.  I have not raised my prices in five years & it is definitely time to, with the cost of living & my rent for the building.
Also Family Discounts are changing.  You will receive 10% off of your total tuition if you have two or more dancers taking dance classes.  (Only applies to immediate family members.)  Example: if your two dancers tuition total is $60.00 then it would be minus $6.00 & you would pay a total of $54.00 in tuition.
Registration Fees: New students pay $10.00 and returning students pay $5.00; this will include a CD of all their songs for the year.  This must be paid to secure your child's spot.
Tuition Prices Per Month:
Kindergarten & under: 40min. class once a week-$25.00
Kindergarten & up: 1hr class once a week-$35.00
Competition Teams 7-9 yr old: will have 1 hr technique & 1 hr learning their routines-$45.00 
Competition Teams 10 & up: will have 1hr technique & 1.5 hr learning their routines-$50.00
Hip Hop Teams: will go once a week-$35.00
Late Fees: Will be paid by everyone who is late no matter the excuse!!  Tuition is due the first dance lesson of each month!  I will be taking roll & be writing down who has paid & who hasn't.  You will get a text or call from me informing you, that you haven't paid & you will add on $10.00 for being late.  If you do not add on the late fee you will not be able to come back.  If you have not paid by the start of the 3rd week of the month you will get a call to come pick up your dancer and you will not be welcomed back.  I love teaching dance but this is my job & I will be paid for it.  Thank you to all the parents who keep track & pay on time, it is greatly appreciated:)
Costumes: As most of you know we will be performing and each student will need to be measured & fit for a costume.  I will let you know the first month of class how much they will cost.  Also note Competition Teams will get 2 costumes & Hip Hop Teams will have 1 costume & sneakers.  All other classes will get 1 costume.

Santaquin Parade

Attention Summer Dancers:)
The Santaquin Orchard Days Parade will be on Saturday, August 4!
We will line up around the cemetery (Center and 400 S).  We are number 57!!
The Parade will start at 10:00am but I will need dancers to meet me at the line-up by 9:30am.  Have them dressed in their dance sneakers, shorts & T-shirt.  All the girls that have long enough hair need to pull their hair in a high ponytail!!
The Parade Route will actually go down Main Street this year & end at the Police Building.
From there I will take all the dancers to the Centennial Park where we will be performing our dances, you can meet us there.
We will be performing our dances around 11:30am, so I want all dancers to stay at the park until we are done performing.
Just so you know the younger dancers will be riding in a trailer & the older dancers will be walking & dancing throughout the Parade.  I will have my Assistant Coaches helping with the younger dancers but I have room for 2 moms to ride if they want to, just let me know.  I was thinking maybe a couple of the moms of the 2 year olds.
Oh & please remember to put sunscreen on the girls:)

There will be no dance classes next week because of the 4th of July and the Peteetneet will be closed  the week of the Holiday.  We will be back to classes on July 10 & 11!  There will be no make-up classes because we have Parades & Talents Shows that will make up for the missed class.

Past Payments & Summer Payments

I just wanted to let you all know for Summer Dance, the money has to be paid all up front with only the exception if you have 2 or more dancers- you can pay half of the total the first class of June & the other half must be paid in full the first class in July.  I cannot & will not accept anything else.  I know there are certain circumstances which I'm sorry but this is a business and my lively hood and I have to treat it as such.  First day of Summer Dance I will be collecting payments if you don't have the payment paid in full at the first of class your dancer will be unable to attend the dance lesson.  Parents please don't send your child without the payment, because I will have to have them call you to pick them up.

Parents who have not paid all their dancers fees from past months need to call me to work this out or your dancer will not be welcome back to dance and you parents know who you are.  I completed my part of the contract & taught your kids dance and gave them a nice recital and I expect you to keep up your end and pay for the lessons & recital.

And a big hooray for all you parents who pay on time and fulfill your contract, it's greatly appreciated!!

Step In Time Dance

Summer & Fall Dance Sign-Ups

Summer Dance:  Will start the week of June 5 and go through the week of August 7 (10 weeks).  Your Dancer’s class will either be on Tuesday or Wednesday in between the times of 9am-1pm.  I will give you a day & a time when I know how many dancers will be taking.  We will be performing at local parades & talent shows (Santaquin, Salem & Payson).  Since they will be performing a Summer Costume must be purchased in the amount of $50.00 which includes sneakers, shorts & dance t-shirt.

Below are the class costs for Summer Dance I have included the 10 weeks of tuition plus the costume.  If you have one dancer I want it all paid up front on the first day of class.  If you have 2 or more dancers you can pay half the first day of class & the rest by the first class in July.  Also there is a discount for parents with more than 1 dancer participating so ask me about thisJ

4 & Under:  $100.00

5 & Older:  $125.00

Hip Hop:  Must be at least 7 & Older.  $125.00

**If your dancer is 7 & Older & would like to do the regular summer dance class & the hip hop class it will be $160.00 for both classes & this includes the costume.

Fall Dance:  I would like to know if your dancer(s) will be coming back for Fall Dance.  Also if your dancer is 7 & Older and would be interested in being on teams for the Fall ask me about it.  In order to be on team they must be very committed dancers and go twice a week & compete at 3-4 competitions.

I just want to let all you dancers know how proud I am of all of you!!  Wow the progress you have made this year was outstanding!!  So many people have told me this was the best Recital yet!!  You really rocked the stage with your moves & made me so happy!!  And thank you, to all you sweethearts who gave me flowers, cards & gifts!!  That was so kind of you and those sweet notes made my heart over fill with joy & thankfulness to have such great people in my life!!  I love you all so much!!  You're the best & don't ever forget that!!  Love- Miss Kimber

Spring Recital This Saturday!!

The Spring Recital is this Saturday, May 12 at Payson High School Auditorium starting at 5:30pm.  All dancers must be there no later than 5:00pm!!  Make sure they have their costume, tights and all their shoes.  Please have them put all their stuff in a bag so they don't lose anything.

Competition Teams Totally Rocked!!:)

I am so proud of all my dancers!! You did totally awesome at the Releve Competition!! I appreciate all your hard work, it really paid off and we will keep working to rock it even harder at the next competition. Elites took all Pink Diamonds, Encores took Pink & Blue Diamonds, Premiers took Pink & Blue Diamonds, Hip Hop Kidz took Purple Diamond & Hip Hoppers took Pink Diamond and the Over All Highest Score in their competition level of Hip Hop out of 8 other dance groups!! Special shout out to Gracie West who took the choreography from the morning Master Class and was picked for the finale at the Releve Rock Out and to all the other dancers that got up early and attended the morning class you did awesome, which was taught by Professional Dancer and So You Think You Can Dance Finalist- Kathryn McCormick (pictured above with the girls).

To All Competition Teams:)

Date: This Saturday, March 17, 2012
Where: Maple Mountain High School (51 North 2550 East Spanish Fork, UT 84660)
Hair: All girls need their hair parted from left to right in a low side ponytail on the right side of the head. The side ponytail can be straight or curly, if your dancer has bangs please twist them out of her face. Also make sure the hair is tight & sprayed well! I don't want hair falling out.

Look below to find your dancers team. Each team must be at the competition one hour before they perform! NO EXCEPTIONS!

Hip Hop Kidz: Must be there at 10:00am! They will be performing All Day at 10:57am.
Wearing Hip Hop Costume & Sneakers.

Premiers: Must be there at 10:45am! They will be performing Twist My Hips at 11:45am and then Who Says at 12:49pm. For Twist My Hips they will need to wear Jazz Costume, tan tights, tan jazz shoes, diamond earrings and purple hair tie (tie it around the ponytail elastic). For Who Says they will need Purple Lyrical Costume, tan tights, purple neck ribbon, purple hair band, diamond earrings and tan foot undeez.

Encores: Must be there at 10:30am! They will be performing Footloose at 11:26am and then Waiting Outside the Lines at 12:14pm. For Footloose they will need to wear Jazz costume, tan tights, tan jazz shoes, diamond earrings and headband (tie it around the ponytail elastic). For Waiting Outside the Lines they will need Green Lyrical Costume, tan tights, tan foot undeez, diamond earrings and green hair tie (tie it around the ponytail elastic).

These 3 Teams must stay for the Awards Ceremony at 1:45pm! Please have them wear their Warm-Ups during the Awards Ceremony.

Hip Hoppers: Must be there at 2:30pm! They will be performing More at 3:27pm. They need to be wearing Hip Hop Costume & sneakers.

Elites: Must be there at 3:00pm! They will be performing Waka Waka at 4:00pm and then Skyscraper at 4:40pm. For Waka Waka they need black leotard, black shorts, tan tights, animal skirt, black hoop earrings, black headband & tan foot undeez. For Skyscraper they need Plum Lyrical Costume, tan tights, diamond hair elastic, diamond earrings & foot undeez.

These 2 Teams must stay for the Awards Ceremony at 6:00pm! Please have them wear their Warm-Ups during the Awards Ceremony.

To All Parents & Dancers:)

I just wanted to remind you all that the Aspire Competition Fee is due this coming week March 12-15!! (Please look below to find your dancers class.) All dancers will be competing at this competition. It is going to be a ton of fun and it gives the dancers a chance to show off what they've learned and to gain confidence in their dancing. This must be paid next week in order for your dancer to participate. The competition is Saturday, April 28 at Spanish Fork High School.

Also I am still missing some Recital Fees from Parents. The Recital Fee is separate from the competition fee. The Recital Fee must be paid to me ASAP in order for your dancer to be able to perform at the annual Spring Recital. If it is not paid there is no exceptions, your dancer will be unable to perform. The Spring Recital Fee is $30.00 per student or if you have more than one dancer participating in the Recital, the fee is $45.00 for all of them. I've sent home notes about this and it was listed in the Registration Contract at the first of the year. This fee helps with the cost of the building rental, insurance, stage crew, janitors and also makes it possible so I don't have to charge admissions at the door. Please, please get this fee to me I want all the dancers to perform at the Recital.

Note: If your dancer is in more than one class, add both their fees together:)

Latter Days Assisted Living in Santaquin (409 South 300 West) has invited us to come perform on Saturday, March 3 beginning at 10:00am. Your dancer needs to be dressed in her costume with hair pulled out of face by 9:40am. Thanks so much!!

For Competition Teams Only

This week the Gotta Move Competition Fees are Due!! The Gotta Move Competition is on May, 5 but they had an earlier deadline so I need this money no later than this week. You should have already known about this I had sent home notes a month ago with your dancer but I want to make sure everyone remembers. Look under your dancer's team name to find how much you owe. If they are on more than one team please add the fees together.
Premiers:
$33.00 (they will compete all 3 of their routines)
Encores:
$33.00 (they will compete all 3 of their routines)
Elites:
$33.00 (they will compete all 3 of their routines)
Hip Hop Kidz:
$22.00 (they will compete their 2 routines)
Hip Hoppers:
$22.00 (they will compete their 2 routines)

Recital Fee is Due Now

Everyone must pay the Recital Fee in order for your dancer(s) to perform at the Spring Recital in May at Payson High School. The fee for one dancer is $30.00 if you have more than one dancer performing in your immediate family the fee is $45.00 for all of them. This must be paid ASAP. Since we have a recital fee I do not have to charge everyone at the door, so please invite as many people as you want.
Also note the recital fee is separate from the competition fee some people were confused about that. The recital is the end of the year performance at Payson High School and the competition is at Spanish Fork High where they will compete one routine and receive a trophy you must pay both in order for your dancer to participate in them. If you lost your paper that said when the competition fee is due let me know and I can get you a new one.

All Competition Teams!!

Just wanted to remind all you parents and dancers of the Competition Teams, that the Releve Competition fee is due this week!! Releve is our first dance competition on Saturday, March 17 at Maple Mountain High School. I need this fee paid no later than this week or your dancer will not be able to compete at this competition or future competitions. Elites, Encores and Premiers fee is $44.00. Hip Hop Kidz and Hip Hoppers fee is $22.00. If your dancer is on two teams make sure you add the fees together!! Also I hadn't out a revised paper of our competitions and performances if your dancer did not bring one home and you need one please let me know. Thanks so much-Miss Kimber
